​​MARIA LUIGIA ZOPPIS BORN IN VOGOGNA, IN THE PROVINCE OF NOVARA ON 1 JANUARY 1935. IN HER YOUTH SHE STARTED EVENING CLASSES IN FRENCH WHILE WORKING IN FRENCH-SPEAKING SWITZERLAND. MEANWHILE SHE MET PORTRAIT PAINTER, GIANCARLO TAGLIAFERRI EARL WHO OFFERED HER THE CHANCE TO WORK IN ROME AT HIS STUDIO IN VIA MARGUTTA. SHE MOVED TO ROME, AND IT WAS LIVING IN THE ARTISTIC ENVIRONMENT OF VIA MARGUTTA, THAT SHE MET ENNIO TOMASSONI WHO HAD ALREADY OPENED A DECORATING STUDIO IN THAT STREET. IN THIS WAY A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THEM WAS BORN THAT IS STILL GOING TO THIS DAY. THEIR OFFSPRING CONSISTS OF TWO DAUGHTERS AND A SON, EOLO TOMASSONI. MARIA WORKS AND COLLABORATES WITH HER HUSBAND ENNIO TOMASSONI, AND SPECIALIZES IN THE FIELD OF RESTORATION AND GOUACHE AND MISSION GILDING. CERTAINLY SHE WAS ALSO A SOURCE OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE FAMILY TO PROMOTE THE CRAFT OF THEIR FATHER ESPECIALLY ON HER SON EOLO. SHE HAS WORKED ON THE GILDING OF THE TIZIANO ROOMS IN UMBERTIDE, PERUGIA, WHILE WORKING ON THE HOME OF THE WELL-KNOWN DESIGNER OF THE ‘80S, UMBERTO GINOCCHIETTI. SHE STILL ENGAGES IN HER CRAFT AND GIVES PRIVATE COURSES ON THE TECHNIQUE OF GOUACHE GILDING.
