About us

Ad Hoc is an evolving group of artists incorporating individual styles and processes. The group was formed in 2003 when a number of artists were invited to meet to exchange expertise and develop opportunities for exhibiting their work. The members of Ad Hoc range in age, experience and practice, producing a wide variety of work in paint, print, sculpture and ceramics. The group encourages artistic individuality within a mutually supportive structure, with members free to participate in exhibitions as they wish. This flow of people, and mix of group response and individual viewpoints, keeps the group, and the exhibitions it creates, fresh and inspiring. Since being established, Ad Hoc has held four very successful group exhibitions. The first was in December 2004 at the Create Centre in Bristol followed by three shows at the Bristol Guild in 2005, 2006 and 2008. In July 2009 four members of the group showed their work at the Toll House Gallery in Clevedon. Their next exhibition is entitled ‘Lifelines’ and is a collection of contemporary mixed media including painting, printmaking, weaving and ceramics. It will be showing at the Bristol Guild from 24th April to 15th May 2010.
